The Business Operations team tackles high-priority initiatives that span strategic projects, pricing, partnerships, revenue strategy, and major business and product priorities. Working closely with the COO and business leadership team, the team advances OpenAI's most important initiatives and ensures the company operates with clarity and focus.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic and operational workstreams across OpenAI's B2B organization, partnering with product, GTM, and partnerships to define and execute against key priorities.
• Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify where OpenAI should play and how we can differentiate.
• Shape product and go-to-market strategies for new and existing product lines.
• Develop frameworks for how new products connect to the broader platform and how they ladder up to company-level revenue and adoption goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align product strategy, commercial positioning, and ecosystem development.
• Translate strategic direction into clear operating plans, programs, and metrics that drive measurable progress.
• Surface insights and recommendations to senior leadership on how to accelerate impact and strengthen competitive position.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience across consulting, product management, business operations, or similarly analytical roles, including 3+ years operating within a company in a role working directly with product.
• Comfortable moving between big-picture strategic framing and detailed product or market analysis.
• Strong product instincts and the ability to connect technical details, customer needs, and market dynamics into clear recommendations.
• Experience analyzing new markets, evaluating right-to-win, and shaping go-to-market or product approaches.
• Highly analytical and structured, with a track record of bringing clarity to ambiguous or fast-moving problem spaces.
• Excellent communicator with experience building alignment across product, GTM, partnerships, and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to couple strategy and execution — turning ideas into operating plans.
• Deep curiosity about AI, enterprise software, and how new product categories emerge and scale.

Location & Working Model

• This role is based in OpenAI's San Francisco HQ.
• Hybrid work model: three days in the office per week.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay summary listed at: $315K (offers equity). Actual base pay may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Total compensation may include equity and performance-related bonuses for eligible employees.
