NVIDIA is searching for a motivated CAD Engineer to join the Advanced Technology Group. You will support installation of foundry techfiles, provide expert support to designers in debugging tool, techfile and design errors, and develop flows and scripts to improve productivity of custom circuit designers worldwide. The role involves both development and support for EDA/CAD tools and foundry process decks.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support foundry techfiles.
  • Support and maintain CAD/EDA tools used by IC designers; work with vendors to identify and resolve bugs and evaluate new tools and features.
  • Create and set up regression environments to test various decks before release to designers.
  • Identify and document changes between different versions of decks received from foundries.
  • Document customizations done to decks and communicate changes to the design community.
  • Develop infrastructure to support design work in new process technologies.
  • Write scripts using Perl, Cadence SKILL, and Python to automate design processes and improve productivity.
  • Provide hands-on support and debugging for designers; collaborate closely with design teams and vendors.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience); M.S. preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid EE or CS background with an understanding of circuits, layouts and VLSI design.
  • Basic understanding of MOSFET device behavior, CMOS layout, and VLSI design principles.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills — Python and Perl explicitly required; experience with Cadence SKILL is a plus.
  • Understanding of version control systems (preferably Perforce).
  • Understanding of regression testing methodology.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining EDA/CAD tools and creating test/regression flows.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; passionate about providing excellent support to end-users.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: 108,000 USD - 184,000 USD (determined based on location, experience, and internal pay equity).
  • Eligible for equity and company benefits.
