Are you a people lead with a passion for technology and development? Do you want a leadership role while staying close to the content? This Chapter Lead role within ABN AMRO Mortgages offers a unique opportunity to shape and build the chapter and the Chapter Lead role itself, working close to both business and IT.

Responsibilities

  • Combine working in a DevOps team with leading a chapter of professionals.
  • Take responsibility for HR-related processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance cycles.
  • Coach and support chapter members in their personal and professional development.
  • Drive performance, growth, and career development of chapter members.
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
  • Shape and evolve the chapter vision and way of working within the chapter (craftsmanship).
  • Work closely with the IT Lead, who will coach and guide you in developing into a Chapter Lead role.
  • Collaborate with other Chapter Leads to strengthen the chapter community.
  • Stimulate knowledge sharing through communities, events, and collaboration initiatives.
  • Contribute as a specialist within a multidisciplinary DevOps team and stay up to date with technological and market developments.

Working environment

  • You will work within ABN AMRO Mortgages where business and IT collaborate closely to deliver value for customers.
  • Part of a multidisciplinary DevOps team (developers, product owners, etc.).
  • The chapter is still developing, so you will influence how the Chapter Lead role is embedded within Mortgages.
  • Hybrid setup: typically meet at the office 1–2 days per week. It is required to reside in the Netherlands. The Mortgages office is located in Amersfoort.

Requirements / Your profile

  • 5+ years of experience and readiness to take a next step towards leadership while remaining hands-on.
  • Experience in a relevant technical or functional domain and working in a DevOps environment.
  • Affinity with coaching and the ambition to further develop leadership skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Genuine interest in developing people and building strong teams, proactive mindset, and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Transparent and reflective attitude; comfortable giving feedback to chapter members and IT lead.

Nice to have:

  • Experience within financial services or the mortgage domain.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum ways of working.
  • Specialization in relevant technical fields.

Specific technical expertise sought for this role (additional expertise expected):

  • SQL
  • Python (pré)
  • Microsoft BI stack: SSAS, SSRS, Power BI
  • CI/CD, GIT, Azure
  • Data warehouse concepts and Kimball methodology

Within this context you will act as a specialist and gradually grow into a guiding role for the chapter in your field of expertise.

We are offering / Benefits

  • Gross monthly salary: € 5.847 - € 8.353 per month (based on a 36‑hour work week), including holiday allowance and a flexible benefit budget.
