Team Overview
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for building and managing core elements of the ClickHouse Cloud data plane β including compute, networking, security, and a multi-cloud, multi-region architecture aimed at delivering a reliable and scalable managed ClickHouse experience.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build robust, scalable, and highly available distributed infrastructure.
- Build a cloud-native platform on public clouds with automated resource management.
- Collaborate closely with ClickHouse database and security teams to develop the SaaS offering.
- Work on routing and traffic components to enhance reliability and scalability.
- Systematically improve availability using industry best practices for distributed systems.
- Design and develop security tooling including firewalls, PKI, certificates, and zero trust network architectures.
- Enhance performance and cost efficiency of infrastructure.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Proficiency in software development using Go, C/C++, Java, or other OOP languages.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud-native edge or service mesh services, especially envoy and Istio.
- Track record leading and delivering complex technical projects collaboratively.
- Strong understanding of network topologies, protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including encryption, access control, and compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR).
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in global teams.
- Strong problem-solving and production debugging skills.
- Passion for efficiency, scalability, availability, and data governance.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with high responsibility and ownership.
