Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate distributed systems powering observability across ClickHouse Cloud
  • Own reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of telemetry pipeline and storage systems
  • Participate in on-call rotation to handle incident response and drive long-term fixes
  • Build tooling and automation to eliminate repetitive operational work
  • Identify bottlenecks and scaling challenges to help shape the observability roadmap
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve their observability posture
  • Participate in design discussions, architecture reviews, and mentor teammates

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and running production systems at scale
  • Proficiency in at least one systems-level programming language (Go preferred; C++, Rust, Python acceptable)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Terraform, or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
  • Comfortable working with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Familiarity with monitoring and telemetry tools like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Experience with ClickHouse database system

Compensation

Salary ranges vary by location:

  • New York Area / San Francisco Area: $135,000 - $232,000 USD
  • General US Remote: $114,750 - $197,200 USD
  • Los Angeles, CA / Washington, DC: $121,500 - $208,800 USD
  • Seattle, WA: $121,500 - $208,800 USD
