The company helps organizations manage observability strategies with the Grafana stack, available via Grafana Cloud or self-managed Grafana Enterprise Stack, featuring scalable metrics (Grafana Mimir), logs (Grafana Loki), and traces (Grafana Tempo).
This role is part of the Solutions Engineering team — the customer-facing product experts who enable Grafana Labs' worldwide growth by educating potential and existing customers, delivering demos, hands-on enablement, technical evaluations, and ongoing engagement. The Solutions Engineer bridges customers, Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to design solutions using Grafana technology and help close opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales to articulate Grafana's value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
- Own the technical engagement with customers and help close complex opportunities through technical credibility and competitive knowledge.
- Deliver product and technical presentations, demos, and hands-on enablement to potential and existing customers.
- Conduct technical evaluations and drive product conversations based on customer needs and problems.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to provide product and competitive feedback.
- Contribute to documentation, blog posts, videos, knowledge base articles, and other public or private enablement materials.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical pre-sales (solutions engineering) experience.
- Strong judgement, collaboration, and leadership for handling various and complex assignments.
- First-class written and oral communication skills to collaborate with remote internal teams and worldwide customers; ability to skillfully articulate value propositions and technical advantages.
- A technical mindset and desire to grow technically; love solving technical challenges and providing creative solutions to customers.
- Must be located in the United Kingdom.
Bonus / nice-to-have:
- Experience with open source technologies or in the metrics/monitoring space.
- Experience with sales methodologies such as MEDD(P)ICC.
Compensation & Rewards
- UK OTE (On-Target Earnings) range: £99,000 - £119,000 (actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset).
- All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
