The Editorial team tells Anthropic’s stories through creative, hands-on experiences that help the public and technical audiences understand the benefits and risks of advanced AI. This role sits at the intersection of storytelling, research, and technology: you will translate cutting-edge AI research into compelling online and physical experiences, prototype novel interaction modes, and build demonstrations that communicate model capabilities and limitations.

Responsibilities

• Build unusual interactive experiences (installations, apps, web experiences) that demonstrate model capabilities and limitations.
• Collaborate with research teams to translate technical breakthroughs and model behaviors into tangible, user-facing demonstrations.
• Lead technical implementation for projects (e.g., Vend), coordinating with external partners to spec and develop new features.
• Prototype novel interaction modes and creative applications of frontier AI models.
• Identify high-impact storytelling opportunities and create technical artifacts, demos, and experiences for editorial, communications, and policy initiatives.
• Analyze data from experimental deployments to generate insights about AI behavior and user interactions.
• Build and maintain tools and infrastructure to support rapid prototyping and experimentation with AI models.
• Work across concept, implementation, and deployment (full-stack responsibilities) and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building creative technology projects or interactive experiences.
• Hands-on experience working with large language models and AI APIs.
• Ability to code fluently and ship production-quality work (experience with web, mobile, or physical computing).
• Strong creative instincts and an ability to identify compelling AI demonstrations.
• Comfortable working across the full stack—from concept through deployment.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and defining your own path.
• Strong collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A portfolio or body of work demonstrating technical creativity.

Strong candidates may also have

• Research engineering background.
• Experience with experimental or speculative design.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Background in creative coding, interactive media, or digital art.
• Published work, installations, or projects exploring technology and culture.
• Experience prototyping with emerging technologies (AR/VR, IoT, robotics).
• Data visualization or creative data science experience.
• Understanding of AI safety considerations and responsible AI deployment.
• Active presence in creative technology communities and experience in agency, lab, or startup environments.
• Familiarity with both research and editorial/content workflows and a track record of public-facing projects.

About the Editorial team

The Editorial team shapes how Anthropic communicates about AI — from research publications to public demonstrations. This role will be embedded with Editorial while collaborating broadly across the organization.

Compensation

The expected base compensation for this position is listed below. The total compensation package for full-time employees includes equity, benefits, and may include incentive compensation.

Annual salary: $200,000 - $255,000 USD

Logistics

• Education: At least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
• Location-based hybrid policy: staff are expected to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office time.
• Visa sponsorship: Anthropic does sponsor visas when possible and retains immigration counsel to support successful hires.
