We are looking for a data analyst who can join our SIRA/RAS squad and can deliver data-driven insights to support the business decision making and optimizing their processes, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across the global FEC organization.
The FEC SIRA (Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis )/RAS (Risk Appetite Statements) department is engaged in exploring, monitoring, and managing risks in the field of Financial Economic Crime. In a constantly changing world with uncertainty as a constant companion, the SIRA and RAS team need to keep an eye on new and emerging risks with the support of data. The FEC SIRA and RAS data squads explore and analyze data and build ad hoc insights as well as structural dashboards which supports the FEC SIRA and RAS team in their risk analysis and reporting internally as well as towards the De Nederlandse Bank. The ambition is to contribute to a resilient bank through effective risk management. The SIRA and RAS serve as powerful steering tools to make strategic decisions and effectively manage risks.
You and your job
You will collaborate closely with the business to understand their business needs. From there you will analyze SIRA/RAS data to generate actionable insights to help business stakeholders understand their business, risks and processes. Based on your analysis and findings you will collaborate with them to implement improvements based on your findings.
Additionally, you are able to communicate complex data in a clear and understandable manner. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a passion for process improvement, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Practical Examples
- The risk managers in the SIRA team are preparing the SIRA 2025 report. With their requirements as basis, you develop dashboarding, visuals or ad hoc analysis on topics like sector risk, crypto transactions or transactions to high-risk money laundering countries.
- As part of a Risk Assessment on Environmental Crime you work together with risk managers and data analysts to set possible red flags for this topic. Based on these red flags you advise the risk managers on available data points and next steps to deepen the analysis.
- The RAS team is working on new risk indicators for sanctions circumvention. To set their early warning limits they need historical data on transactions to and from possible risk countries. Together with the risk managers of the RAS team you set the requirements for the analysis. Based on these requirements you collect, clean and analyse data in our Databricks environment.
Top 3 responsibilities
- You drive the analyses at hand, create the appropriate documentation, and present the conclusions to our stakeholders.
- You collaborate closely with stakeholders and translate complex data to clear insights to help them understand and improve their processes.
- Based on stakeholder discussions in the sprint reviews, you come up with ideas to improve our analyses. You experiment and discuss these potential improvements with the team the analysis.
