NVIDIA's data centers host ground-breaking products across high-performance computing to machine learning applications for autonomous vehicles and healthcare. This role focuses on developing and managing tools, processes, and analytics that align NVIDIA’s global data center supply with fast-growing internal demand. The position requires a mix of technical and business leadership, a deep understanding of GPU roadmaps and associated infrastructure requirements, and the ability to translate demand signals into actionable multi-year capacity plans across a global portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in coordination with product requirements and configurations of mechanical and electrical system designs.
- Build and maintain capacity planning models for critical data center resources, including methodologies to track global demand, supply, and portfolio utilization.
- Translate business drivers, internal tenant demand, and GPU roadmap requirements into multi-year capacity strategies.
- Develop tools to measure incremental vs. cumulative demand and supply, highlighting constraints, risks, and available capacity.
- Evaluate tradeoffs across timing and location; develop options to optimize portfolio planning.
- Partner with construction, design, finance, and operations teams to validate assumptions, incorporate technical dependencies, and ensure alignment with strategic growth.
- Integrate design & construction considerations: rack-ready vs. powered-shell timelines, density requirements, and evolving GPU architectures.
- Operate as a self-starter: identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive execution with minimal guidance.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in data center capacity planning, portfolio management, or related engineering roles.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Deep experience creating tools, models, and dashboards that track demand and supply across sophisticated portfolios.
- Solid understanding of data center infrastructure, design, and construction timelines, particularly as they relate to GPU architectures and roadmap transitions.
- Proven experience in portfolio planning—balancing multiple projects, timelines, and capacity requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter mentality; ability to work independently while influencing multi-functional partners.
Ways to stand out
- Prior experience in hyperscale, colocation, or semiconductor data center planning.
- Familiarity with GPU architecture and associated cooling/power design requirements.
- Sophisticated skills in Excel, SQL, or other tools for capacity modeling and portfolio tracking.
- Experience working in high-growth environments with rapid shifts in demand.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary ranges (location, level, and experience dependent):
- Level 5: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
- Level 6: 216,000 USD - 345,000 USD
- Eligible for equity and benefits.
