Join BUUT’s data team and help drive data engineering work that supports compliance, management information and reporting for stakeholders such as DNB and ABN AMRO. You will extract, transform and model data from complex source systems, build and maintain ETL pipelines and cloud infrastructure, and collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to deliver accurate and timely reports. BUUT currently runs infrastructure on AWS with plans to transition to Azure and works in a hybrid setup from a shared office in central Amsterdam.
Responsibilities
- Extract and transform data from source systems to create databases for use by data analysts in Power BI.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure (currently AWS, planned transition to Azure).
- Design, build and maintain robust ETL pipelines that tolerate change and avoid breakage.
- Ensure data integrity, timeliness and correctness of reporting for internal and external stakeholders (including DNB/ABN AMRO).
- Perform statistical analysis of key features, client data and financial transactions.
- Create connections between systems and orchestrate data flows using CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other teams and stakeholders to synchronize operations and communicate changes.
- Proactively identify and implement continuous improvements in data processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical IT discipline (HBO/WO level).
- 5+ years of experience in a similar data engineering role, including stakeholder management and implementing best practices.
- Proven ability to establish data pipelines with focus on readability, best practices and structured work processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to integrate social aspects into interactions.
- Proficient with cloud platforms: AWS experience required/used today; experience with or willingness to work with Azure (migration planned).
- Knowledge of programming and data languages and tools such as PySpark (AWS Glue), Go, Python, SQL and TypeScript (Amazon CDK).
- Experience building cloud infrastructure, designing and orchestrating ETL pipelines, creating system integrations and applying CI/CD processes (GitHub).
- Experience with tools used by data analysts (Power BI) and handling reporting requirements for regulators and internal stakeholders.

Working model & location
