Vinted’s Marketplace Trust & Safety domain product team is looking for a Data Engineer. A friendly and knowledgeable team with big ambitions is looking for a new member to join on the journey of building Detection platform requiring streaming capabilities. You will be joining the Detection Product team, with a mission to protect the Vinted community from harmful activities and content. The Detection teams are engaged in detecting, understanding, and stopping actors involved in dangerous or inappropriate activities by building a detection platform.

In this position, you’ll
- Build foundational capabilities for Detection platform.
- Solve technical problems that have a large scope, complexity, and business impact
- Recognise impediments to our efficiency as a team, propose and implement solutions
- Advocate for improvements to product, performance, and safety
About you
- Proven track record in professional software development.
- Experience with programming in Java or other JVM language
- Knowledge of agile, DevOps & Automation - testing, build, deployment, CI/CD, etc
- Exposure to Data streaming frameworks such as Flink, Spark-streaming, Storm, Kafka-streams, Kinesis, etc
- Good understanding of general infrastructure areas – compute, storage, network
- Experience with modern software development life-cycle
- Working proficiency and communication skills in written and verbal English
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organisational skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working on building developer tools/Platforms
- Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills
- Interest and ability to learn new software development skills and techniques
- Experience working with Docker, and Kubernetes
