Data Science Manager, User Growth

Reddit is seeking an experienced Data Science Manager to lead a team of data scientists focused on driving and optimizing user growth. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to build and improve systems that continuously grow Reddit's user base. The position is US remote-friendly with optional office locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.

Responsibilities

• Drive adoption of strategic and tactical recommendations grounded in deep product knowledge and strong data skills to maximize value to Reddit consumers.
• Serve as a thought partner for product managers, engineering managers, and leadership; communicate and shape roadmaps and strategy by identifying actionable insights through deep-dive analyses.
• Be proactively involved in all phases of product development: ideation, exploratory analysis, opportunity sizing, metrics design, offline modeling, experimentation and decision-making, and post-launch monitoring/measurement.
• Ensure data quality and proper experiment design and analysis; work on ETLs, reporting dashboards, and data aggregations required for business tracking and ML model development.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing product analytics/data science team; enable analytics self-serve for cross-functional partners.

Requirements

• Experience driving product strategy and roadmaps through analytics, ideally for consumer technology products and marketplaces.
• Leadership experience: ideally 3+ years as a people manager, having led a team of 5+ data scientists.
• Teams you have led should have expertise in causal inference, A/B testing/experimentation, metric definition and governance, and product strategy.
• Experience enabling analytics self-serve for cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to explain nuanced, complex concepts simply to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python and/or R for hands-on analysis; willing to roll up your sleeves and work alongside the team when needed.
• Collaborative attitude, strong curiosity, and evidence-backed product instincts.

Pay transparency:

• Base pay range for US-based applicants: $217,000 - $303,900 USD (final offer determined by skills, experience, and other factors).
