The Data Science Team at Reddit is hiring an experienced Data Science Manager to lead a team focused on driving and optimizing user growth. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing to surface actionable insights, influence product strategy, and build systems that continuously drive user acquisition and engagement. The role is US remote-friendly or available at Reddit offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City.
Responsibilities
- Drive adoption of strategic and tactical recommendations based on deep product knowledge and strong data skills to maximize value to Reddit users.
- Serve as a thought partner to product managers, engineering managers, and leadership; help shape roadmaps and strategy by identifying actionable insights through deep-dive analyses.
- Be proactively involved in all phases of product development: ideation, exploratory analysis, opportunity sizing, metrics design, offline modeling, experimentation and decision-making, and post-launch monitoring/measurements.
- Ensure the collection and quality of underlying data, including experiment design and analysis, data deep dives, and addressing instrumentation or data quality issues.
- Work on ETLs, reporting dashboards, and data aggregations needed for business tracking and/or ML model development.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product analytics/data science team and enable analytics self-serve for cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Experience driving product strategy and roadmaps through analytics for consumer technology products and marketplaces.
- Leadership experience: ideally 3+ years as a people manager, leading teams of 5+ data scientists.
- Teams led previously should have expertise in causal inference, A/B testing/experimentation, metric definition and governance, and product strategy.
- Experience enabling analytics self-service for cross-functional teams.
- Strong communicator; able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and explain complex systems simply.
- Proficient in SQL and Python or R for hands-on analysis; able to work alongside the team as needed.
- Collaborative attitude, natural curiosity, and strong evidence-backed product judgment.

Location & Work Policy
- US remote-friendly. Office locations: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City. Candidates may work remotely in the United States or from an office location listed above.
Pay Transparency
- Base pay range (US): $217,000 - $303,900 USD
- This role may also be eligible for equity (RSUs) and, depending on position, commission. Final offers depend on factors including skills and experience.
