Details

At SentinelOne, we’re redefining cybersecurity by leveraging AI-powered, data-driven innovation to stay ahead of tomorrow’s threats. We value collaboration, high-quality work, and a passion for solving complex problems. This role focuses on building high-quality datasets that power cybersecurity-focused AI: collecting, cleaning, labeling, and maintaining data that enable detection, summarization, and defender workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain datasets used for training, fine-tuning, and prompting AI models for cybersecurity applications.
  • Explore and curate structured and unstructured security data (logs, malware, alerts, incidents) to improve model relevance and effectiveness.
  • Develop pipelines for data collection, cleaning, labeling, and versioning.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to define data requirements and ensure alignment with cybersecurity problems.
  • Contribute to evaluation design and automation to ensure continuous improvement of AI systems.
  • Drive data quality and coverage for use cases such as summarization, classification, detection, and reasoning over security context.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with data in applied AI or ML systems, ideally in security or similarly complex domains.
  • Strong Python skills and experience with common data tools (pandas, numpy, PySpark).
  • Experience curating and maintaining large, evolving datasets for training and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with data labeling strategies, data versioning, and pipeline automation.
  • Ability to explore and analyze messy data from real-world systems.
  • Experience with LLMs or generative AI models and understanding of their data dependencies.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threat types, telemetry sources, or detection workflows.

Bonus

  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity data (EDR, SIEM, IDS/IPS, threat intel, malware, etc.).
  • Familiarity with open-source evaluation tools (HELM, lm-eval, BIG-bench, etc.).
  • Experience with MLOps stacks (Airflow, MLFlow, Weights & Biases).
  • Infrastructure skills: cloud platforms, Kubernetes, data pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • A passion for building tools that make security professionals more effective.

Benefits

  • Medical, Vision, Dental, 401(k), Commuter, Health and Dependent FSA
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Industry-leading gender-neutral parental leave
  • Paid Company Holidays and Sick Time
  • Employee stock purchase program
  • Disability and life insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Gym membership reimbursement
  • Cell phone reimbursement
  • Numerous company-sponsored events, including regular happy hours and team-building events

Compensation

This U.S. role has a base pay range that will vary based on the location of the candidate. Base Salary Range: $147,200—$234,600 USD. For some locations a different pay range may apply; if so, it will be provided during the recruiting process.
