Details

The world’s most advanced VPN, and a whole lot more.

If you’re a curious problem-solver who carves their own path, join the team behind Threat Protection Pro, the NordLynx protocol, and the fastest VPN on the planet — tools that put privacy, security, and control back in people’s hands.

Your impact: helping millions take back control of their online security, privacy, and data.

Our Threat Intelligence team provides accurate and timely information on potential threats to our products. The team includes professionals from Data Science, Malware Research, Development, and Privacy, and uses feeds, heuristics, algorithms, and machine learning to detect threats.

Responsibilities

  • Design solutions to problems while researching, debugging, and analyzing data using different data sources.
  • Take ownership of projects from idea to completion, overseeing planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
  • Create scalable and reliable code, and write documentation for contributed or explored parts.
  • Research, develop, and deliver data science solutions to production.
  • Develop custom ML metrics to monitor model performance.
  • Analyze validation/testing results, explain them, and improve model design accordingly.
  • Plan deliverables with team members, maintain constant communication about progress, and engage in mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct code reviews and suggest improvements to current solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in data science or mathematical modeling.
  • Solid knowledge of statistics (examples mentioned: Monte Carlo, hypothesis testing, bootstrap, Bayesian inference).
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in machine learning algorithms: linear regression, random forest, gradient boosted trees, neural networks, k-means, etc.
  • Proficiency in deep learning methodologies with extensive practical experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with the PyData stack (e.g., Pandas, Numpy, MatPlotLib, Spark) for analytics/machine learning.
  • Experience in cloud services (preferably AWS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills (researching, debugging, instrumentation).
  • Ability to break down and prioritize work and choose appropriate tools/algorithms for problems.
  • Willingness to explore, grow, and mentor others while keeping up with data science innovations.

Bonus

  • Understanding of networking and internet protocols.
  • Ability to identify potential problems in machine learning solutions at early stages.
  • Experience releasing and maintaining machine learning services in production.
