This Developer Programs Associate role is execution-focused and centered on supporting and growing Grafana Labs' developer and open-source communities across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa). The role involves organizing meetups and events, managing swag and recognition, evaluating conference sponsorships, supporting contributors, and partnering with internal teams to increase community engagement. The role may require travel up to 30% and includes owning several scoped projects each quarter with opportunity to lead one larger program annually.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and support community meetups across EMEA, collaborating with local community organizers
  • Evaluate and execute regional conference sponsorships, including logistics and community presence
  • Represent Grafana Labs in online and in-person settings (travel up to 30%)
  • Partner with affinity communities and explore collaboration opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams to enable and inspire their involvement in community initiatives
  • Respond to and manage incoming community requests and opportunities
  • Monitor community health and provide insights to the broader team; identify emerging needs
  • Manage swag logistics and recognition efforts for community contributors
  • Execute a few scoped projects each quarter and potentially lead a larger program annually

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience supporting developer communities at global, regional, or local levels
  • 2+ years of experience organizing community events such as meetups and conferences
  • Strong communication skills and compassionate relationship-building across diverse communities
  • Experience leading projects and improving programs through thoughtful, creative approaches
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail when executing community-facing programs
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and ability to work independently in a distributed team
  • Comfortable using tools like Common Room, Slack, and Monday.com (or equivalents) to track engagement
  • Willingness to travel for community events (up to 30%)

Bonus

  • Experience with or participation in open source communities
  • Familiarity with observability and/or Grafana Labs technologies (Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Tempo)
  • Proficiency in additional languages

Compensation & Rewards

  • For candidates based in Germany, the base compensation range for this role is EUR 59,000 - EUR 71,800. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed during the interview process.
  • All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Compensation ranges are country specific; candidates applying from other locations will have pay ranges discussed by their recruiter.
