Role overview
You will act as a subject-matter expert and developer-relations lead for 6G and AI-native RAN topics. The role requires establishing partnerships with researchers and vendors, conducting simulation studies, developing and coding AI/ML and LLM algorithms for RAN, benchmarking, publishing papers and filing IP, and representing NVIDIA at standards and industry bodies (3GPP, AI-RAN alliance).
Responsibilities
- Establish trusted partner relationships with top 6G and AI-RAN researchers in network vendors, academia, and startups.
- Act as the subject matter expert on key 6G topics and identify/engage researchers working on those topics.
- Conduct simulation studies, develop algorithms, and benchmark results.
- Define and code AI/ML and LLM algorithms as applied to RAN.
- File intellectual property and write papers for publication in reputed journals and contribute to standards bodies.
- Follow and attend 3GPP and AI-RAN alliance proceedings, develop contributions, and drive an ecosystem of partnerships at these bodies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (NV Research, engineering, solution architects) to drive mission-aligned tasks.
- Analyze complex challenges in realizing AI-native RAN, develop strategies, and implement solutions to achieve project objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and new technologies to drive innovation and ensure deliverables meet NVIDIA standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on deep research experience in Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture and algorithm design at reputed research organizations or universities.
- Hands-on experience defining and coding AI/ML and LLM algorithms in RAN, with peer-reviewed published papers.
- Deep understanding of AI and GenAI as applied to wireless networks.
- Good knowledge of hardware choices for the RAN stack and vision to evolve the industry toward accelerated computing.
- Strong skills in representing the organization at industry bodies and submitting papers/contributions.
- Proven ability to work in multifaceted, fast-paced entrepreneurial environments and deliver results.

- Understanding of CUDA, TensorFlow, and GPU architecture is a strong plus.
- Published IEEE research papers and/or 3GPP contributions.

Compensation & benefits
- Base salary range: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD (determined based on location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions).
