Reddit is seeking a Director of Consumer Data Science to lead the company’s consumer data science and analytics functions. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for scaling a modern data science organization that establishes strong data foundations and leverages advanced quantitative modeling to drive high-impact decisions across the company. The role requires both technical depth in data science and experimentation and the executive presence to influence decisions at the highest levels.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders across Consumer Engineering & Product, Ads, Marketing, and Finance to provide clear, actionable insights that guide company strategy.
• Represent Reddit internally and externally as a thought leader in data science, machine learning, experimentation, and measurement.
• Drive company-level impact through in-depth understanding of Reddit’s ecosystem leveraging all facets of data science.
• Build, lead, and retain a multidisciplinary team spanning data science, ML, data engineering, and analytics.
• Develop senior leaders within the organization while scaling a strong bench of technical and scientific talent.
• Uphold and improve data science quality and data citizenship across the organization.
• Advance Reddit’s data science capabilities to ensure they are trusted and scalable.
• Deepen understanding of Reddit’s complex ecosystems of communities, moderators, contributors, and consumers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science, economics, or ML engineering, with 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven ability to define, communicate, and execute a data vision that drives measurable business outcomes.
• Deep expertise in data science, causal inference, machine learning, data engineering, and experimentation.
• Strong technical and scientific foundation in data science and analytics engineering, with experience in modern data platforms.
• Exceptional influence and communication skills, with the ability to deliver impartial insights to C-level executives.

Pay Transparency

• Base pay range for this U.S.-based position: $260,800 - $365,100 USD.
• In addition to base salary, eligible for equity (restricted stock units) and, depending on the role, possibly commission.
• Additional U.S. benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and generous time off.
