NVIDIA is a world leader in physical AI, powering self-driving cars, humanoid robots, intelligent environments, medical devices and more. Our software platforms are at the core of this mission, enabling innovators to build world-changing products that save lives, improve working conditions, and elevate standards of living across the globe.
The emergence of Vision-Language-Action models capable of fusing data from cameras, radars, lidars, and ultrasonics is driving an industry shift from on-device to centralized sensor processing. NVIDIA is creating the Sensor AI Platform: a unified software stack and partner ecosystem to enable OEMs to provide models with rich sensor data at scale. This role is a founding director position to define and lead that platform, spanning SDKs, unified APIs, sensor bridges, and partner ecosystems.
Responsibilities
- Define the product vision and strategy to unite imaging, DSP, Holoscan Sensor Bridge, and multimedia engineering teams behind a single SDK and unified API serving automotive (AV), robotics, medical, geospatial, and other industries.
- Architect the multi-channel go-to-market strategy, building an ecosystem of sensor vendors, module integrators, channel partners, ISVs, and GSIs to enable OEMs to move from conception to mass production.
- Accelerate conversion of design wins to volume shipments by removing sensor integration barriers and enabling embedded SoC volume and the data pipelines that drive data center GPU sales.
- Build alignment and influence across engineering and vertical organizations to forge a single, compelling platform strategy.
- Partner with solutions architects, solutions engineers, DevRel, and account teams to enable the field and establish feedback loops to improve developer experience.
- Define and implement KPIs focused on Time-to-Success (TTS), Support Efficiency, and scale of third-party sensor data available for datacenter training and validation; build systems for product observability and business intelligence.
- Hire and mentor a small, elite product team to increase the platform's insights and impact.
Requirements
- 12+ years of management experience in SDK or platform software product development, with a consistent record of defining and launching products that address developer and enterprise needs and deliver a smooth developer experience.
- M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related technology area.
- 6+ years of leadership experience in high-leverage individual contributor or small-team leadership roles; demonstrated ownership of multiple products with outsized commercial impact relative to team size.
- Deep technical understanding of high-throughput sensor pipelines (cameras, lidar, radar) and the surrounding ecosystem.
- Ability to translate technical and business complexities into simple, scalable platform abstractions.
- Outstanding cross-functional leadership and influencing skills to navigate a highly matrixed organization and build strong connections across product, marketing, and business teams.
- Strong experience in crafting go-to-market strategies and nurturing partner ecosystems.
- Empathy and determination to build and develop a product for demanding, fast-moving customers aligned with broader NVIDIA engineering and business strategies.
Preferred / Ways to stand out
- Background in self-driving, robotics, medical, or geospatial AI.
- Experience in engineering, product marketing, or ecosystem marketing roles.
- Familiarity with Holoscan Sensor Bridge, multimedia engineering, DSP pipelines, embedded SoC integration, and data pipelines for datacenter training and validation.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range (varies by level and location):
- Level 5: 272,000 USD - 425,500 USD
- Level 6: 340,000 USD - 517,500 USD
- Eligible for equity and benefits.
