About the Team

The Answer Experience team is reimagining how people access information and get answers to all their questions in ChatGPT. Working across research, engineering, product, and design, the team builds experiences that combine intelligence, real-time information, and rich, interactive visual content so users get the perfect experience for any question.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to grow and guide the Answer Experience team. This role is exclusively based in our San Francisco HQ. We offer relocation assistance to new employees.

Responsibilities

• Hire and manage a diverse, high-performing engineering team
• Collaborate with teams across research, product, design, and engineering to enable step-change improvements to how ChatGPT answers look and feel
• Coach engineers to maximize their impact and growth
• Create an inclusive culture that makes all feel welcome while enabling radical candor and the challenging of groupthink

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in engineering, including 5+ years of experience in engineering management
• Passion for building and evolving delightful, essential product experiences
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change; eager to get deep into the weeds to help solve problems
• Strong track record of coaching engineers to achieve their peak potential
• Experience attracting and hiring top talent for highly competitive technical roles, and ability to effectively communicate a vision that resonates with candidates

Benefits & Compensation

• Base salary range: $325,000 - $405,000 (listed)
• Offers equity; total compensation includes equity and performance-related bonus(es) for eligible employees
