About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and strategic engineering leader to guide efforts around user growth for ChatGPT. The team will focus on improving discoverability, onboarding and the new user experience, social features, and other growth areas through strategic bets and rapid experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Hire and manage a diverse, high-performing engineering team.
• Improve discoverability, onboarding and the new user experience, social features, and more.
• Define and track progress against key user growth metrics via rapid, data-driven experimentation.
• Coach engineers to uplevel their impact.
• Create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture that makes all feel welcome while enabling radical candor and the challenging of group think.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in engineering, including 6+ years of experience in engineering management.
• Experience building and leading growth engineering in a fast-paced environment.
• Track record of building inclusive teams and caring deeply about diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Comfort with rapid experimentation and building delightful, reliable product experiences.
• Strong track record of coaching engineers to achieve their peak potential.
• Ability to operate in ambiguity and changing conditions, adding structure and order as necessary.
• Experience closing competitive candidates and the ability to craft and convey compelling visions of the future.
• A strong intrinsic desire to learn, fill in missing skills, and share learnings clearly and concisely with others.

Benefits & Compensation

• Base salary range listed: $325,000 – $405,000 per year. Offers include equity and may include performance-related bonus(es).
