Details
The Growth team at OpenAI is responsible for expanding the reach and impact of our AI products, including ChatGPT and other offerings. The team focuses on optimizing user acquisition, subscriptions, engagement, and retention by partnering with Product, Data Science, Design, and Marketing to build growth-focused features, optimize conversion funnels, personalize user experiences, and drive business impact.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale a high-impact engineering team focused on growth-driven initiatives.
- Drive user growth and subscriptions by building and optimizing sign-up flows, onboarding experiences, and subscription models.
- Improve retention and engagement by developing features that enhance user experience, personalization, and re-engagement strategies.
- Run data-driven experiments (A/B tests, pricing models, referral programs, churn prevention tactics) to optimize key growth metrics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Design, and Data Science to align on growth strategies and initiatives.
- Leverage AI-powered insights to create dynamic, personalized experiences that increase user conversion and lifetime value.
- Ensure scalability and performance while implementing growth-focused engineering solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering management experience.
- Strong technical expertise in backend, frontend, or full-stack development, with experience building growth-oriented features.
- Track record of driving growth through experimentation, optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with subscription models, user acquisition, retention tactics, and monetization strategies.
- Comfortable working with A/B testing, funnel analysis, user segmentation, and personalization techniques.
- Experience using analytics tools (SQL, Amplitude, Looker, or similar) to guide product decisions.
- Passion for AI and bringing cutting-edge AI technologies to millions of users.
Location and Relocation
This role is exclusively based in OpenAI's San Francisco HQ. Relocation assistance is offered to new employees.
