Details

Join Coinbase's Consumer Product Group as the founding engineering leader for a new product vertical focused on Coinbase for Business. You will design and launch a new product offering, own engineering end-to-end for the product, build prototypes and MVPs, and hire and lead a small team of ICs. The role requires strong system design and architecture skills, hands-on software development for prototypes and MVPs, cross-team collaboration across onboarding, payments, tax and commerce integrations, and experience shipping new products (0β†’1). The company is remote-first but not remote-only β€” in-person participation and periodic offsites are expected.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of engineering for the new Coinbase for Business product
  • System design and architecture for a new product offering
  • Writing code and building prototypes as needed for the MVP and future vision (examples: international payments, payroll, invoices)
  • Hiring and management of a team of ~6 individual-contributor engineers
  • Collaborate across Coinbase teams to launch supporting features (onboarding, multi-user, payment rails, tax, settings, commerce integrations)
  • Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs

Requirements

  • Experience in fintech (B2B preferred, consumer also acceptable)
  • Experience building on sophisticated product platforms with extensive cross-team collaboration
  • 0-to-1 experience launching new products (at a startup or internal venture)
  • Strong system design and architecture capability
  • Hands-on coding experience and ability to build prototypes/MVPs
  • People management / hiring experience for small engineering teams

Nice to haves

  • Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or other blockchain-based services
  • Prior experience with international payments, payroll, invoicing, payment rails, and commerce integrations

Pay & Compensation

Pay Range: $218,025 β€” $256,500 USD (target bonus + target equity + benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k) apply and vary by work location)
