About the Team
The Integrity team at OpenAI is dedicated to ensuring that our cutting-edge technology is secure from adversarial threats. The team defends against misuse in all its forms: content abuse, scaled attacks, and other actions that could undermine user experience or harm operational stability.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy advanced machine learning models that solve real-world problems and bring research from concept to implementation.
- Work closely with researchers, software engineers, and product managers to understand complex business challenges and deliver AI-powered solutions.
- Implement scalable data pipelines, optimize models for performance and accuracy, and ensure production readiness.
- Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and lead by example to maintain high-quality engineering practices.
- Monitor and maintain deployed models to ensure continued value and reliability.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in deep learning and transformer models.
- Experience training and fine-tuning large language models (methods such as distillation, supervised fine-tuning, and policy optimization).
- Proficiency with frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Experience or interest in content understanding and abuse prevention with LLMs is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
- Ability to move fast in environments with loosely defined scope and competing priorities; willingness to own problems end-to-end.

Compensation
- Base salary range: $293,000 - $385,000 per year. Offers include equity and other compensation components.
