We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join one of our Product Engineering teams in the Trust and Safety domain - specifically, the team dedicated to stopping phishing in its tracks. This team plays a critical role in protecting our members by ensuring that phishing attempts are detected and blocked before they reach anyone.

As the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a talented group of engineers focused on advanced phishing detection techniques. This includes work on external signal recognition, text classification using machine learning, threat vector analysis, QR code and image-based detection, and identifying urgency-driven social engineering attacks, among other initiatives. Your core responsibilities will include:

• People leadership: fostering growth, engagement, and high performance within your team.

• Technical excellence: ensuring the quality, scalability, and maintainability of the team’s codebase.

In this role, you’ll be responsible not only for executing the technology strategy but also for safeguarding Vinted against key threats and bad actors - those constantly seeking vulnerabilities to exploit. Your success will hinge on your ability to drive impact across three core dimensions:

And you will:

• Lead the team that powers harmful content detection – guide technical decision-making and execution to improve our ability to detect phishing, scams, and deceptive behaviors at scale
• Establish and evolve effective team processes – set up clear, sustainable ways of working that help the team stay focused and productive, and regularly review and refine them for continuous improvement
• Drive the implementation of the technical strategy – align your team’s work with broader Trust domain goals, ensuring solutions are scalable, effective, and privacy-conscious
• Own team delivery and key results – help your team focus on the right outcomes and consistently deliver against goals that protect Vinted’s platform
• Invest in your people – support the personal and professional growth of team members through regular feedback, mentoring, performance reviews, and compensation processes
• Foster collaboration – work closely with other Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Analysts, and Data Scientists to continuously improve detection capabilities and system robustness
• Champion effective ways of working – apply Agile and Lean principles to ensure the team operates efficiently and adapts well to change
• Build a strong, resilient team culture – create an environment of psychological safety, trust, and accountability where healthy debate leads to better decisions and results

The salary range for this position is € 6,258 - € 8,475 gross per month.
