NVIDIA is seeking an experienced firmware engineer to join the FW PHY Group. You will work closely with application engineering teams, customers, other firmware development teams, architecture, and chip design teams to develop and debug PHY-layer firmware for NVIDIA networking products and technologies. The role involves close collaboration across HW and SW groups and participation in silicon bring-up and software development phases.
Responsibilities
- Work on technologies for AI infrastructure and high-performance networking devices.
- Debug, analyze, and solve PHY-layer issues across networking devices to improve performance and reliability.
- Work with application teams and support customers on field issues.
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware, and software design teams to resolve complex cross-domain issues.
- Debug and triage hardware/firmware/software interactions and issues.
- Participate actively in silicon bring-up and software development phases.
- Lead data-driven discussions about product functionality and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with customers to resolve issues.
- Ability to work with interrupts and in dynamic environments.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient programming in C.
- Experience debugging and investigating difficult problems in embedded firmware.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple countries and cross-functional teams.
Ways to Stand Out
- Proficiency in Python and data analysis.
- Good understanding of SerDes operation.
- Experience developing the physical layer of communication protocols.
- Knowledge of hardware/software development processes.
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to guide and influence.
Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary ranges (depending on level and location):
- Level 3: 148,000 USD - 235,750 USD
- Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
- Eligible for equity and benefits (link to NVIDIA benefits provided in original posting).
