About the Team

The Enterprise Agents team is scaling OpenAI with OpenAI. Part of the B2B Applications organization, the team applies the latest models to real-world problems to assist with or automate work across the company and shares learnings back to product and research teams. The team builds an ecosystem of automation products used across customer operations, workplace, and engineering, focusing on fast prototyping and building reliable long-term impact with simple, generic patterns that apply across many domains.

About the Role

You will blend production-ready platform architecture with new technologies and paradigms, pushing the boundaries of OpenAI's newest technologies to enable interactions and automations that are functional and delightful. The role values proactive, product-minded engineers who can see the big picture while attending to details that define great products.

Responsibilities

• Own the full product development lifecycle for new platform capabilities and product experiences end-to-end.
• Collaborate closely with internal customers to understand their problems and implement effective solutions.
• Work with the research team to share relevant feedback and iterate on applying their latest models.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience (excluding internships) in relevant roles at tech and product-driven companies.
• Proficiency with JavaScript, React, and other web technologies.
• Proficiency with a backend language (the team uses Python).
• Some experience with relational databases like Postgres/MySQL.
• Interest in AI/ML (direct experience not required).
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-growing, product-driven companies by navigating loosely defined tasks and managing competing priorities or deadlines.
• Product-minded approach; former founder or early startup engineer who built a product from scratch is a plus.
• Experience building production-ready platform architecture and delivering end-to-end product experiences.
