The expected salary for this position: 13 000 - 25 000 PLN gross.

This role is for an engineer working in a small team responsible for delivering infrastructure and platform capabilities. The team delivers automation, monitoring and tooling for large platforms and applications. The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Engineer IV”. The team is located in Poland (Katowice).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new API solutions using Go.
  • Maintain and enhance existing APIs.
  • Deploy and manage applications on OpenShift.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and optimization.
  • Use various technologies on top of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
  • Build and improve monitoring/alerting and observability across services and automate tasks throughout the platform lifecycle (Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Logstash).
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand needs, provide enablement and drive adoption of best practices.
  • Contribute to platform architecture, documentation and internal tooling.
  • Carry out production deployments, identify and patch bugs and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Provide 24x7 coverage (weekends and evenings) for standby duty on a rotational basis with other team members.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Go programming for API development and maintenance.
  • Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and practices.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Knowledge of project patterns.
  • Knowledge of the OpenAPI specification.
  • Basic knowledge of issues related to databases.
  • English: B2/C1.

Nice to have / Extra points

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of event streaming platforms (Apache Kafka).
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, ELK stack, Grafana).

Team

We are a team of five engineers who deliver infrastructure (1200+ servers, networks) for the most demanding platforms and applications within ING. We provide automation for operating system installation, network and firewall management, together with advanced monitoring systems. Team is located in Poland.

Additional information

  • Role will include working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
  • The position involves production deployments and rotational on-call duty.
