Details

Do you enjoy hacking and tinkering at the lowest levels of software? Are you capable of crafting and implementing creative solutions in heavily resource-constrained environments? Join the GPU Firmware team to design and implement display firmware for GPUs that drive HDMI, DP, and eDP displays. In firmware, tight constraints such as security, boot-time, and storage shape every solution β€” every byte counts. You will work with a diverse, highly skilled team to shape the future of GPU display technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize GPU firmware throughout the entire GPU lifecycle
  • Implement industry-standard display technologies, including HDMI, DisplayPort (DP), eDP, and the UEFI Graphics Output Protocol
  • Work closely with hardware, software, infrastructure, and business teams to transform new display features from idea to reality
  • Collaborate with OS and PC vendors to improve and innovate the startup experience
  • Create, document, and automate workflows, processes, and tooling for internal and external team projects

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with display technologies such as HDMI, DP, and eDP
  • Sturdy technical background in UEFI firmware development
  • In-depth understanding of PC notebook and desktop architecture
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and coding practices
  • Strong skills in Python and C, plus general scripting ability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with hardware designers and software engineers to design, develop, and debug GPU subsystems and display functionality

Ways to stand out

  • Background with display protocol analyzers
  • Experience developing device BIOS, firmware, or other low-level software
  • Familiarity with x86 and VGA assembly programming
  • Experience with OS user- and kernel-mode drivers
  • Passion for optimizing systems and mentoring others

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (determined by location, experience, and comparable pay):
    • Level 3: 148,000 USD - 235,750 USD
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
  • Eligible for equity and company benefits (see company benefits page)
