As a Product Manager on Coinbase Institutional you will play a critical role in developing and furthering objectives in the global cryptoeconomy, set the standard of institutional trading and financing, and build a more innovative financial system. You will work closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to build and enhance institutional products, powering millions of crypto transactions per day.
While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually). Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
Responsibilities
- Own product development from conception to launch, and strategically expand core product offerings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, and other teams to develop and steer product roadmap.
- Define and analyze metrics to guide product development.
- Align teams on a shared vision and steer execution on that vision.
- Clearly communicate plans & progress internally to partners, stakeholders, and executive leadership, and communicate product benefits & functionality externally to clients.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in product management or trading.
- Proven ability to lead product strategy and align cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and operations.
- Strong analytical thinking and prioritization skills; able to navigate complex trade-offs with clarity.
- Clear, confident communicator with strong relationship-building instincts across Sales, Trading, Risk, Prime, and Operations.
- Entrepreneurial and execution-focused; thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Committed to building institutional-grade systems with reliability, scalability, and risk controls across credit, market, operational, and compliance dimensions.
- Deep understanding of crypto and traditional finance market structures; ability to design novel, commercially viable products.
- Drives outcomes and aligns teams around commercial goals with urgency and accountability.
- Demonstrated passion for cryptocurrency, financial markets, and the Coinbase mission.
Nice to haves
- Experience building for institutional customers (corporates, asset managers, hedge funds, market makers, VCs) and appreciation of sub-user types (e.g., trader, operations, financial controller).
- Familiarity across a range of financial services products, including trading, financing, payments, custody, or other capital markets experience.
- Deep expertise in financial services products (e.g., trading, custody, or financing) and/or relevant industry experience in core financial primitives (e.g., market microstructure, clearing, payments, exchanges).
- Strong understanding of derivatives products, gained through hands-on trading or building products in traditional finance or crypto markets.
Compensation
- Pay Range: $243,865 — $286,900 USD (target annual salary depends on work location). Full time offers also include target bonus + benefits.
