Responsibilities
- Build and manage full-stack engineering teams for features, services, and infrastructure across web and mobile.
- Coach direct reports to positively impact the organization and support career growth.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to create and execute a quarterly roadmap.
- Be a technical voice aiding in architectural decisions and fostering high-quality code and engineering processes.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver and operate multi-tenant distributed systems at scale.
- Work with talent organization to recruit exceptional engineers aligned with Coinbase culture.
- Own processes that drive engineering quality and meet SLAs.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years software engineering experience.
- Minimum 2 years engineering management experience.
- Strong understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering practices.
- Execution-focused mindset, capable of delivering results amid ambiguity.
- Hands-on capabilities including coding, reviewing, incident leadership, and troubleshooting.
Nice to Haves
- Experience leading product teams.
- Experience with React, React Native, GraphQL, Golang, Kubernetes, and MongoDB.
- Built financial, high-reliability systems, or microservice architectures.
- Built subscription platforms.
- Crypto-forward experience including Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or blockchain services.

Coinbase expects in-person participation throughout the year, with multiple offsites to foster collaboration.
Pay Range: $211,650 — $249,000 USD per year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
