About the team

The AI team is focused on one of Stripe’s most strategic growth areas: enabling the monetization and scaling of AI-native and AI-enabled businesses. We’re in a unique position – partnering with the world’s most ambitious AI companies (the likes of OpenAI, Anthropic, NVIDIA, etc) building on the frontier of artificial intelligence -- across infrastructure, foundation models, agents, and applications -- to help them grow and commercialize globally using Stripe’s full financial stack.

As part of Stripe’s GTM / Sales organization, this team works closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to shape Stripe’s AI GTM strategy and ensure that the world’s leading AI companies -- from early-stage innovators to the largest public players -- choose Stripe as their monetization platform.

What you’ll do

As a Manager on the AI GTM team, you will develop and execute Stripe’s strategy for the AI industry, driving adoption of products like Payments, Stablecoins, Link, Billing, Tax, and help them expand globally. You will lead a team of account executives who engage directly with executives (Founders / CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and CTOs) at top AI companies. You’ll shape Stripe’s narrative in this fast-evolving industry, guide complex technical sales, and partner deeply with Product to influence Stripe’s roadmap for AI users.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term vision for the AI GTM team, including strategic priorities, operational rhythm, and success metrics.
  • Build, lead, and coach a high-performing sales team to drive revenue growth and product adoption across Stripe’s AI customer base.
  • Develop strategic GTM plans aligned with Stripe’s AI industry objectives -- covering startups, scale-ups, and large enterprises.
  • Drive revenue growth by expanding existing relationships and increasing multi-product attach across Payments, Billing, and Financial Automation products.
  • Partner with Product and Marketing to translate AI company needs into product strategy, launch plans, and scalable playbooks.
  • Cultivate executive relationships with the founders and leaders of AI-native and AI-enabled companies across North America, LATAM, and other priority regions.
  • Guide the team in running consultative, solution-based sales cycles that combine technical depth with commercial creativity.
  • Serve as a thought leader internally and externally on how AI companies monetize, scale, and integrate financial infrastructure.
  • Contribute to building Stripe’s long-term position as the monetization layer for the AI economy.

Who you are

You are a proven sales leader who thrives at the intersection of technology and business strategy. You combine deep curiosity about artificial intelligence with a passion for helping builders scale. You have experience leading high-performing teams, running complex, technical sales motions, and partnering cross-functionally to drive new market creation. You’re energized by ambiguity, and you excel at creating clarity and focus for your team and partners.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience in SaaS or financial technology, bonus if in AI.
  • 15+ years of experience in hyper-growth environments leading cross-functional or product-led sales motions.
  • Deep understanding of AI, software infrastructure, or developer platforms and the associated business models.
  • Proven success leading teams through complex technical sales cycles and executive negotiations.
  • Track record of building high-performance teams and driving scalable, repeatable growth motions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with executive audiences.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to shape GTM strategy and influence roadmap direction.
  • A self-starter mindset and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” in a rapidly evolving domain.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience selling into or working with AI-native or developer-focused companies.
  • Understanding of AI monetization models (token-based, usage-based, seat + usage hybrids).
  • Prior experience at a fast-growing Internet, AI, or SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-product or platform-level sales motions.

In-office expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $380,600 - $571,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
