Role overview

We’re looking for a Head of Design to lead and deliver how Groq’s brand is visually expressed. You will own brand design across campaigns, product, and experiences, creating work that reflects Groq’s clarity, confidence, and leadership in performance. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can define the brand’s visual direction and execute it with precision. You bring strong creative instincts, understand technology, and know how to translate complex ideas into a bold, consistent visual identity.

Responsibilities

  • Own Groq’s visual identity and brand design system across all channels.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear, consistent, and impactful visual communication.
  • Design key creative for campaigns, launches, and events that define how Groq shows up in the world.
  • Evolve Groq’s visual language to scale globally and maintain brand consistency.
  • Establish a clear visual point of view that aligns with Groq’s positioning.
  • Elevate how Groq expresses its brand through design that feels developer-driven yet enterprise-ready.
  • Manage external creative partners when additional support is needed.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Engineering to ensure brand design reflects the product experience.
  • Provide creative input on major initiatives including product visuals, campaigns, and events.
  • Communicate design direction clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements / Ideal candidate profile

  • 10+ years in design or creative direction with experience shaping brands in technology or AI.
  • Proven ability to define and lead creative direction at a company and product level.
  • Deep understanding of visual systems, typography, motion, and product storytelling.
  • Strong creative judgment and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to balance developer authenticity with enterprise-grade credibility.
  • Hands-on capability and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Compensation

At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $169,700 to $229,500, determined by your location, skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks. This range is specific to roles in the United States; compensation for candidates outside the USA will be dependent on the local market.
