Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Total Rewards team strives to ensure each Stripe receives equitable and competitive compensation (cash, bonus, and equity) that is reflective of the geographies where Stripes work. We aim to align our compensation programs with Stripe’s business priorities and operating principles to attract, retain, develop, and engage our people.

What you’ll do

Stripe is looking for an exceptional, hands-on leader to guide our equity programs into their next phase. You will strategize and plan for the continued growth at Stripe globally, and be accountable for all things equity including data integrity and scaling systems and processes. You will develop and manage the equity administration team and report to the Head of Total Rewards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Global Equity Management (GEM) function; setting the strategy and vision, and aligning them with the overall company and talent strategy goals
  • Oversee a globally distributed team of specialists; setting the team up for success with clear guidance, direction, and coaching as they remain responsible for the day-to-day core work and execution of tasks
  • Determine and own the operating model for the GEM team, including vendor strategy and vendor management to achieve functional goals with an emphasis on the user (employee) experience
  • Identify areas of opportunity for global equity policies and processes to be optimized to meet ongoing business and program compliance needs
  • Be a trusted, internal advisor and resource to Stripes, managers, and other internal partners navigating challenging equity situations and compliance obligations
  • Work cross functionally with key internal partners and leaders including Legal, Corporate Tax, Accounting, Finance, Investor Relations, Payroll, Recruiting, People Partners, Benefits, and Compensation, to design and implement global equity processes and program enhancements
  • Ensure tax compliance for applicable employees, by partnering with the tax team on the global reporting and tax requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact on key global equity projects, including advising on the equity aspects of M&A activity at Stripe and delegating as needed
  • Serve as the point of escalation for any GEM-related challenges
  • Partner with the Finance team and People team leaders to set the GEM team budgets
  • Utilize data to make informed equity-related recommendations and decisions, paying close attention to the user (employee) experience, costs, and ROI on equity programs
  • Keep the business abreast of any changing regulations and policies related to equity, and strategizing any communication plans and outreach as needed

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • A background of at least 7+ years of experience in global equity management and administration, including at least 3+ years of leading the function and a distributed team
  • CEP Level 3 designation required
  • Proven experience managing global external providers such as vendors and consultants
  • Strong knowledge of global equity laws, regulations, and processes

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience scaling equity at a fast growing company in both the private and public sector
  • Deep knowledge of global equity legal and tax compliance requirements

  • Thinks strategically and creatively, finding solutions by reexamining assumptions
  • Can effectively manage deadlines and competing priorities, moving with urgency and focus

Working remotely at Stripe

A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $185,400 - $278,200. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.

We look forward to hearing from you
