BUUT is live! After launching in September, we’re growing fast and shaping the future of banking for a new generation. Powered by ABN AMRO and brought to life by the creative minds behind Tikkie, BUUT is looking for a Head of Product Design to lead our design vision, elevate our craft, and build a design culture that sets new standards.
BUUT is a neobank designed for teens and their parents—simple, interactive, visually driven, and 100% at home in the world of the new generation. BUUT offers everything you’d expect from a bank, but with a Tikkie twist. Our mission is to make banking fun, intuitive, and empowering for the next generation.

- Grow and mentor Product Designers; hire, coach, and develop careers.
- Co-create and scale a design system for speed, consistency, and scalability across products.
- Champion Continuous Discovery: empower Product Designers to run customer interviews, synthesize insights, validate assumptions, and guide solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and Growth to align design with business outcomes and roadmap priorities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience; experience leading and mentoring a product design team or clear readiness to step into that role.
- Strong background in interaction and visual design, prototyping, and validation.
- Experience with design systems and scaling design in complex environments.
- Leadership skills combining vision, mentorship, and collaboration.
- Comfortable with Continuous Discovery practices (customer interviews, assumption mapping, rapid validation).
- Experience in consumer-facing digital products; bonus for experience with youth-focused apps or fintech.
- Excellent command of English; Dutch fluency is a strong plus.
Benefits
- Competitive monthly salary of €7,525 – €8,152 (including holiday allowance, paid monthly), depending on experience.
- Supplementary benefit budget of 11% (paid monthly or convertible into fringe benefits such as mobile phone, bike, wearables, or extra time off).
- 25 days of annual leave, +1 day after Ascension, and 5th of May as standard day off.
- Personal development budget of €1,000 per year.
- 5 "banking for better days" (days off for personal development or voluntary work).
