Groq delivers fast, efficient AI inference. Our LPU-based system powers GroqCloud™, giving businesses and developers the speed and scale they need. From our Bay Area roots to our growing global presence, we are on a mission to make high performance AI compute more accessible and affordable. When real-time AI is within reach, anything is possible. Build fast.
Mission
Groq is hiring a Head of Technical Product Marketing to define and communicate our performance leadership across the entire stack, from custom silicon to GroqCloud. This is a deeply technical role grounded in computer science, systems engineering, and performance analysis. You will work closely with Engineering to establish how Groq measures, explains, and proves its advantage at every layer of the architecture.
Your work becomes the backbone of Groq’s technical narrative: how the LPU works, how the compiler schedules workloads, how the runtime behaves, how inference scales, and how these pieces combine in the cloud to deliver real-time performance with breakthrough efficiency.
Responsibilities
-
Define the Performance Story Across the Stack
- Build benchmarking methodologies and performance frameworks that reflect real-world workloads from silicon to cloud.
- Partner with Engineering to validate results across chip architecture, compiler optimizations, runtime behavior, and cloud deployment.
- Analyze latency, throughput, scaling curves, memory behavior, and workload efficiency across LPU generations and model families.
- Maintain internal performance dashboards and source-of-truth materials that create alignment across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Executive teams.
-
Explain How the Stack Works and Why It Wins
- Translate engineering insights across hardware, software, and cloud operations into clear and credible explanations.
- Build technical narratives that articulate performance at each layer and show how the layers compound to create leadership.
- Develop frameworks for explaining model behavior on Groq architecture, including scheduling, determinism, parallelism, and cost efficiency.
- Support product launches, analyst briefings, and customer conversations with rigorous analysis and clarity.
-
Own Groq Performance Leadership Externally
- Define how Groq publishes performance claims for silicon, compiler, runtime, and cloud.
- Create briefs, whitepapers, and technical materials that explain Groq architectural advantages and real-world performance gains.
- Anticipate deep technical questions from analysts, customers, and partners across chip, system, and cloud domains.
- Drive consistency and accuracy across all performance messaging.
-
Partner Across the Company
- Work closely with Engineering teams in chip, compiler, runtime, and cloud to align on performance definitions and insights.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to ensure technical accuracy in launches, positioning, and competitive stories.
- Inform roadmap discussions through performance trends, model profiling, and workload analysis.
- Equip Growth and Sales with the technical depth needed for developer and enterprise conversations.
Requirements / Ideal Candidate
- Ten or more years in systems engineering, ML performance, computer architecture, or similar CS-driven roles.
- Deep understanding of inference workloads, profiling tools, optimization techniques, and benchmarking.
- Ability to explain full-stack performance, including silicon architecture, compiler behavior, runtime scheduling, and cloud deployment.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills with a high standard for clarity and accuracy.
- Experience building or maintaining benchmarking systems, analysis tools, or performance dashboards.
