We leverage behavioural science and data to understand what drives and engages our employees and enable evidence-based decision making across all levels of the organisation. As an intern you will be involved in product development, analysis, research and business partnering, gaining insight into how a mature people analytics team operates and creates value for the organisation and its employees.

The team

Our ING “Growing the Difference” Strategy is about empowering people to stay a step ahead in life and business. The Human Resources team delivers a People Vision focused on three strategic pillars: (1) Talent & Leadership, (2) Culture & Organisation and (3) Employee Experience. Within the Global Human Resources organisation, this intern role supports the People Analytics Team (Center of Expertise) to deliver easy, personal & efficient insights to all ING colleagues & stakeholders.

Job overview

This internship in the People Analytics department is an opportunity to gain practical experience in people analytics. You will support the team in developing and running analytical products, analysing data to inform decisions in areas such as recruitment, retention and employee engagement, and developing reports and dashboards to track key metrics.

Duration: 5 to 9 months.
Expected weekly hours: 30 to 36 hours per week (agreement).

Responsibilities

  • Support People Analytics (PA) squads in delivering their operational agenda: planning, monitoring progress on projects and day-to-day activities.
  • Act as a sparring partner, sounding board and troubleshooter for day-to-day activities.
  • Support operational activities related to contracts with vendors, key performance tracking, and preparing presentations for People Analytics management and Senior Leadership meetings.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to HR projects, processes and ways of working, collaborating with Communities of Expertise and Data teams.
  • Own and fully develop an HR project during the internship.
  • Contribute to building reports and dashboards and to analysis that informs workforce and people decisions.

Requirements / How to succeed

  • Currently on track in your Bachelor (last year) or Master studies and fully available for the internship (30 to 36 hours/week).
  • Mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders) during the internship.
  • Consultancy style and professionalism to work with senior management; able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organisation skills; comfortable setting priorities and escalating issues.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, high work pressure and tight deadlines; hands-on, proactive and resourceful.
  • Strong communication and story-telling abilities in English (excellent written and verbal skills).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Some knowledge of HR function and external HR trends is preferred; knowledge of HR key processes is advantageous.

Rewards and benefits

  • This is a full-time paid internship with competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR (based on a 36-hour work week).
  • Public transportation costs from your home to the ING Office will be fully compensated.
  • Full access to the internal knowledge website (6,000+ online courses & certifications).
  • Your own work laptop.
  • Hybrid working (blend of home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation).
  • Growth and challenging work, an informal working environment and the opportunity to learn from experts.
