Responsibilities

• Develop next generation audit practices as part of a global internal audit team and work closely with the IT audit portfolio.
• Support Coinbase’s internal audit plan through execution of IT and security related audits including planning, stakeholder management, fieldwork execution, reporting, and validation of remediated findings.
• Develop audit reports on internal control structure effectiveness for executive audiences.
• Create customized solutions to issues found during audits.
• Manage and support internal audit staff; perform ad-hoc investigations/audits/reviews.
• Track and evaluate management’s responses and corrective actions on audit findings.
• Stay current on regulatory requirements impacting the organization and control, technology, security, and business areas.
• Assist in preparation of audit materials for Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
• Lead periodic control certifications.
• Establish trusted relationships with business unit management.
• Collaborate with first and second lines of defense to enhance testing efficiencies and internal control review coverage.
• Act as advisory function to business partners to mitigate risk and improve technology, security, and operational performance.
• Assist with responses to regulatory inquiries.
• Educate process owners on control importance and audit roles.
• Promote innovative project execution and infrastructure enhancements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related IT/security field.
• 4+ years internal audit experience focusing on technology, IT, and information security audits or first line operational, technology, software development, and security fields.
• Excellent understanding of cloud technology stack, software development lifecycle, cloud configurations and security services, and enterprise tech stack risks and controls.
• Proven project management skills to handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to quality and detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-driven and able to work independently and in teams.
• Experience in fast-paced organizations.
• Strong understanding of data analysis techniques.
• Proficient in Google Suite or MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Basic scripting experience in languages like Python, Ruby.

Nice to Haves

• Professional Internal Audit/IT/Security qualifications (e.g., CISA, CFE) or knowledge of Chartered Institute of Internal Auditor practices.
• Understanding of crypto, payments, and/or financial services industries and experience auditing information systems and controls.
• Entrepreneurial attitude adaptable to a rapidly growing startup environment.
• Experience with outsourced or co-sourced internal audit functions.
• Ability to work across functions and time zones.

Pay Range: $108,630 — $127,800 USD per year. Includes target bonus, target equity, and benefits.
