Are you passionate about AI, data, and sustainability? Join our team to help shape the future of ESG data integration at ING.

This internship contributes to a strategic initiative focused on aligning local ESG taxonomies with ING’s global data standards. The project is critical to ensuring consistent, high-quality ESG data for regulatory reporting and internal modeling purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Design an AI-driven mapping approach to automate the mapping between ING’s global ESG data framework and local ESG taxonomies. This includes identifying relevant data definitions, data sources, business processes, derivation logic, and related artifacts.
  • Pilot the proposed approach in a selected country’s ESG taxonomy, working closely with data analysts and ESG domain experts to test feasibility and accuracy.
  • Evaluate pilot outcomes, identify limitations, and provide recommendations for scaling the solution across other jurisdictions to support ING’s ESG data strategy.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled at a Dutch university during the internship (or an EU university for EU passport holders) — this is mandatory.
  • A strong interest in AI, data science, and sustainability.
  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy) is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Comfortable working with data flows, business process documentation, and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Willingness to collaborate with data analysts and ESG domain experts.

Benefits

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on a 36 hours work week.
  • Your own work laptop.
  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation.
  • Personal growth and challenging work with learning opportunities.
  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues.
