This international presence leads to distributed teams, cross-country workflows, and technological systems that require global alignment.
Team
Tech Strategy and Enterprise Architecture functions as a global unit. The team works with counterparts in multiple countries, participating in global architecture management teams, and contributing to standards applied across ING Group. English is the standard working language for documentation, architectural guidance, and cross-regional collaboration.
Role description
Daily activities during the internship will consist of analytical, documentation-focused, and research-support tasks related to AI adoption within ING. Activities revolve around understanding how AI appears in daily workflows and how employees interact with AI tools. The work supports broader objectives of the department: translating complex technologies into clear concepts, analysing implications of AI for daily work, and contributing to strategic clarity.
Responsibilities
- Map selected AI-assisted workflows in collaboration with colleagues within Tech Strategy and Enterprise Architecture.
- Review examples of friction or uncertainty in AI use.
- Collect observations from teams using AI tools in different operational settings.
- Support preparation of presentations, internal summaries, and workshop materials that explain AI topics in simple and accessible terms.
- Document findings, structure insights, and prepare materials that contribute to architectural and strategic discussions on AI.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled at a Dutch university (or an EU university for EU passport holders) for the duration of the internship (mandatory).
- Ability to work in English (English is the working language for documentation and cross-regional collaboration).
- Analytical mindset, strong documentation skills, and an interest in AI adoption, enterprise architecture, and translating technical topics into clear concepts.
- Willingness to collaborate with distributed, cross-country teams.
