We are looking for an experienced IT Chapter Lead who will contribute to the delivery of the IT services in the domain of Human Resources.

Being the IT Custodian for Global HR, our squads support a wide range of IT solutions, ranging from Workday to HR DataLake, from Learning management Solutions via Data transfer solutions to global Payroll.

The solutions are managed within the IT Area ‘Employee TECH Services’, which combines the IT Services for Human Resources with IT services for Corporate Real Estate Facility Service. These domains all work in a shared perspective towards employees having a great ING Employee Experience.

The chapter is technical part of HR and as a team we are delivering services for over 50.000 colleagues worldwide. Our main goal is to unify, simplify and improve end-user experience in all of our units and to achieve that we use state of the art solutions like Workday, Data Lake solutions, and several HR related SaaS solutions.

We need you when you are an experienced IT chapter lead (team manager) who is open for challenges and wants to daily cooperate with international stakeholders around the world.

In the team we offer you the opportunity to try new things or work on innovations, bring your ideas to life.

Your job

As a chapter lead, you are responsible for managing and inspiring a chapter of DevOps engineers. Your main task is to enable your engineers to grow their mastery and get a little bit better in what they do every day. As a lead you contribute to the delivery of the IT solutions in your chapter.

You work closely with architects and feature engineers to build the technical roadmap for our IT services and find ways to improve the employee experience for the bank.

You are part of the leadership team of the IT area. Together with the other chapter leads and the IT area lead you develop the vision and execute the strategy to inspire our engineers to grow and drive technological innovation.

Managing your chapter means actively working on the development of your engineers through continuous on-the-job coaching and 1:1 conversation, creating a development plan and monitoring it together. Finding the true purpose of your engineers and enabling them to grow in what they love to do and are good at to find that win-win situation for the engineer and ING.

Your work environment

ING works in multi-disciplinary teams based on Agile and DevOps principles. Scrum is our way of work, but we are always open to other ways as long as it is agile.

ING adopted the ‘Spotify’ model, which means that you are part of a matrix organization. You work in your squad but are also part of a chapter, an expertise focused group that shares knowledge and creates and governs standards. Next to that, there are guilds and communities where you can add your value but also can learn a lot.

Who you are

  • A Master’s degree
  • You are a motivated engineer who likes to work in a team on complex solutions.
  • You love to inspire and coach other people to grow
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask effectively.
  • Capable of prioritizing personal workload in a fast-paced environment, capable of handling multiple parallel projects with timely follow-up and resolution.

  • It is a preference when you have a solid experience in Information Risk & Security and preferably ISACA certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA) or willing to learn
