Details

(Junior) Quant Trader role in ABN AMRO's FX Trading team. The role focuses on designing, implementing and deploying trading algorithms and analytics to support electronic FX trading. The ideal candidate has a quantitative background, a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and strong programming and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build, enhance, test and maintain trading algorithms (Java) and an analytics framework (Python).
  • Use programming skills to automate trading processes and optimize performance.
  • Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights.
  • Work with stakeholders including IT, Sales, Data Engineers and Risk.
  • Occasionally manage risk books.

Requirements

  • University degree or PhD from a top tier university in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or equivalent STEM degree.
  • 12–30 months experience in a similar role.
  • Strong programming skills and a desire to write simple, clean, correct code.
  • Solid analytics skills, including experience working with large amounts of data.
  • Enthusiasm for financial markets and an interest in market dynamics and trends.
  • Team player with a hands-on, practical and proactive approach to solving complex problems.

Nice to have

  • Experience within algorithmic (FX) trading and market microstructure.
  • Background in FX.
  • Experience with (high-performance) databases and building data pipelines for real-time and historical analysis.
