Role overview
At the heart of ClickHouse Cloud is a Kubernetes operator that manages thousands of databases across multiple clouds, regions, and Kubernetes clusters. The operator provisions ClickHouse clusters, manages users and permissions, configuration, backups, upgrades and more. As a member of the team you will design and implement new features, ensure the operator remains robust, testable, and maintainable, and support the operator in production.
Responsibilities
- Work deep inside Kubernetes to design and develop new features and improvements for the clickhouse-operator.
- Collaborate closely with the autoscaling team and core team to integrate new features into the operator.
- Educate and support other teams so they can contribute to the operator codebase.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and investigate issues in the ClickHouse Cloud production environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
- Software development experience in Go.
- Experience developing Kubernetes operators.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within and across engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and solid production debugging experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership, and be accountable.
- Experience with ClickHouse is preferred.
