About the team

OpenAI is building the learning and certification ecosystem that will shape how enterprises adopt AI at scale. We are launching our first wave of enterprise-grade certifications with a set of strategic launch partners. As a Launch Manager, you will own the relationships, programs, and operational execution needed to deliver world-class certification launches across our customers and product partners.

You will be the connective tissue ensuring that each partner’s certification journey is smooth, high-impact, and tightly aligned to our broader learning strategy.

About the role

You will serve as the primary point of contact for our certification partners, managing the full lifecycle from selection to launch to ongoing iteration. You will coordinate pilots, track learning outcomes, gather and translate partner feedback, and ensure that launches land cleanly inside complex enterprise environments. You will also work closely with our product partners to ensure a clear end-to-end experience.

You will work cross-functionally to ensure we deliver certification experiences that meet OpenAI’s bar for rigor, clarity, and customer impact.

Responsibilities

Own high-impact partner relationships

  • Serve as the primary strategic and operational lead for certification launch partners.
  • Drive partner vision, alignment, and success criteria with leaders across L&D, HR, technical teams, and executive sponsors at our top customers.
  • Build trust quickly, anticipate needs, and influence partner decisions that ensure successful certification rollout and adoption.

Shape and execute the certification launch model

  • Design and run partner pilots end-to-end: scoping, milestone setting, readiness, communications, logistics, and measurement.
  • Build repeatable playbooks that reduce friction and raise quality across partners as the program scales.
  • Proactively identify risks and unblock cross-functional dependencies before they become issues.

Drive cross-functional alignment

  • Collaborate deeply with the Certification/Jobs team to align partner needs with product, assessment, and content roadmaps.
  • Coordinate with Certification/Jobs to ensure certification platform capabilities meet enterprise requirements (assessment delivery, scoring, reporting, badging).
  • Partner with Customer Education to ensure curriculum and assessment quality meets OpenAI’s rigor.
  • Synthesize structured partner insights and influence product decisions and program evolution.

Define KPIs and champion insights

  • Establish clear partner and launch metrics (activation, engagement, completion, pass rates).
  • Build and maintain transparent reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • Turn partner data and feedback into actionable recommendations that shape the certification strategy and OpenAI’s broader learning ecosystem.

Scale the ecosystem

  • Contribute to the partner strategy for distribution—employers, platforms, training providers, and ecosystem integrators.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that accelerate adoption and expand the reach of OpenAI certifications.

Requirements

  • Deep experience owning strategic partnerships or complex enterprise programs end-to-end.
  • Comfort thriving in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and independently establishing structure, clarity, and momentum.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple organizations.
  • Strong product intuition and ability to translate partner needs into concrete requirements for Product and Engineering.
  • Exceptional clarity in communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience building processes that scale while staying lightweight and focused on impact.
  • Commitment to responsible AI education and building certifications that are defensible, rigorous, and globally meaningful.

Nice to have

  • Experience launching education or certification programs with enterprise partners or platforms.
  • Familiarity with assessment design, psychometrics, or workforce development ecosystems.
  • Prior exposure to AI/ML concepts or strong aptitude for technical learning.
  • Experience working with global or multi-region partners.
