Responsibilities

  • Act as a data thought partner to product and business leaders across marketplace teams by providing insights, recommendations, and enabling data-informed decisions.
  • Drive day-to-day product analytics and create scalable data tools.
  • Identify pain points in traveling and hosting and work with product leadership to improve experiences for guests and hosts.
  • Leverage Airbnb’s data, machine learning infrastructure, and central data science tools to build and grow measurement capacity within the organization.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and operations to achieve shared, cross-functional goals to keep Airbnb’s community safe and trusted.
  • Lead and drive data-driven roadmaps for CS working groups; recommend actionable solutions backed by data and metrics and communicate effectively with Product, Operations & Engineering managers.
  • Build business insights & reporting platforms to monitor efficacy and efficiency of behaviors, product interfaces, processes across CS platform and contact center network.
  • Perform data modeling of entities and use tools & frameworks for optimizing community and agent experiences.
  • Define and evaluate key metrics in unstructured problem spaces, including measurement of ML models that drive product development; communicate what moves these metrics and why.
  • Influence data-driven decisions via business reviews, scorecards, self-serve portal, OKRs and planning.
  • Influence experimentation & measurement strategies: conduct power analyses, define exit criteria, and use statistical models to improve inference; apply causal inference to address unstructured problems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of industry experience and a degree in a quantitative field (Masters or PhD is a plus) such as Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or Operations Research.
  • Expert communication and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-culturally and cross-functionally and to present conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience partnering with internal teams to drive action and providing expertise on analytics, data science, experimental design, and measurement.
  • Expert skills in SQL and expert proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).
  • Experience with non-experimental causal inference methods, experimentation, and machine learning techniques, ideally on a multi-sided platform.
  • Working knowledge of schema design and high-dimensional data modeling and familiarity with ETL frameworks (e.g., Airflow).
  • Ability to drive data strategies and create a central source of truth to impact business decisions.
  • Experience supporting community support and/or working closely with operations teams.

Location & Work Arrangement

  • This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.
  • You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states are excluded).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range indicated: $157,000 — $185,000 USD.
  • Role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
