Responsibilities

• Enable, facilitate, and assist in streamlining integrated data-driven decision making across Payments Platform, Product, and Operations organizations.
• Drive operational excellence and host/guest experience through problem-solving guided by data and research.
• Collaborate in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to receiving and processing funds.
• Oversee day-to-day operations in partnership with finance across collection, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Generate payment reports and analyze payment data for insights and performance evaluation.
• Provide regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders.
• Analyze payment performance and health, triage issues, and recommend optimization solutions.
• Collaborate on Financial Risk Management including losses, chargebacks, and automation of payments processes.
• Optimize end-to-end payments journey by identifying pain points and improvement opportunities.
• Drive host and guest advocacy to enhance payment experience.
• Build payment strategies to balance financial risk and experience using advanced data analytics.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in payments.
• Ensure accurate and efficient handling of payment transactions.
• Monitor payment trends and implement strategies to optimize payments processing.
• Provide guidance to maintain robust and reliable payments infrastructure.

Requirements

• 8+ years industry experience in business analytics; advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in quantitative field preferred.
• Experience supporting Payments teams or work closely with payments.
• Expert skills in SQL and proficiency in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).
• Experience with causal inference, experimentation, and machine learning techniques.
• Knowledge of schema design and high-dimensional data modeling (e.g., ETL frameworks like Airflow).
• Comfortable working under ambiguity with minimal supervision in fast-growth environments.

Location

This role is remote-eligible within approved US states where Airbnb Payments, Inc. is registered. Occasional office or offsite attendance may be required.

Benefits

• Base pay range: $157,000 to $185,000 USD per year.
