Airbnb's Trust Experience Analytics team within Global Operations is seeking an Advanced Analytics Lead to support Product and Business leaders within the Trust organization. The team enables, facilitates, and streamlines integrated data-driven decision making across Trust Product, Operations & Policy organizations. You will design and build scalable and robust products and systems to detect and mitigate fraud activities across the platform (Account Integrity, Content Integrity, Financial Fraud, Safety, Identity, etc.) and improve the end-to-end trusted user journey (pre-trip, on-trip and post-trip).
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive data-driven product roadmap for Trust (Safety & Identity) working groups.
- Recommend actionable, data-backed solutions to product problems and communicate effectively with Product & Engineering managers.
- Build business insights & reporting platforms to detect and mitigate fraud behaviors and actors across Airbnb's platform.
- Perform data modeling of entities involved in Trust (hosts, guests, agents, etc.) and optimize community end-to-end journeys while minimizing undesired frictions.
- Define and evaluate key metrics in unstructured problem spaces, including measurement of ML models that drive product development; explain what moves these metrics and why.
- Influence data-driven decisions across business verticals via business reviews, scorecards, self-serve portals, OKRs, and planning.
- Influence experimentation & measurement strategies: conduct power analyses, define exit criteria, and use statistical models to improve inference.
- Create data narratives and influence experimentation platforms to guide execution of new products, processes, and systems.
Requirements / Your Expertise
- Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in business analytics; Masters or PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, OR) is a plus.
- Must have experience supporting trust & safety teams and/or working closely with policy, content moderation, or security teams.
- Expert skills in SQL and expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R).
- Experience with non-experimental causal inference methods, experimentation, and machine learning techniques, ideally in a multi-sided platform setting.
- Working knowledge of schema design and high-dimensional data modeling; familiarity with ETL frameworks (e.g., Airflow).
- Strong ability to work under ambiguity in a fast-growth, complex environment with minimal direction.
- Strong storytelling skills: able to use complex data and insights to frame narratives and influence stakeholders.
Location & Office Policy
- This position is US - Remote Eligible. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states excluded). The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $157,000—$185,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. Actual base pay depends on factors such as experience, skills, and market conditions.
