Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?
At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.
The CX Compliance team plays a critical role in ensuring our global Compliance Operations run smoothly, adhere to regulatory standards, and deliver consistently high-quality outcomes. As a Lead Analyst, Compliance TMS Operations, you will take ownership of end-to-end transaction monitoring investigations involving both individuals and entities, which may result in the drafting and filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs). This role requires strong experience in quality control and a proactive approach to working with various stakeholders across the Financial Crime Risk service line and support teams. You'll navigate complex scenarios and issues, balancing high-volume workloads with exceptional attention to detail. Operating with minimal supervision, you'll prioritize effectively, collaborate cross-functionally, and remain open to feedback to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

- Conduct investigative review and analysis in support of the company’s AML regulatory compliance policies and programs, including investigating automated alerts from transaction monitoring systems (TMS) and referrals sourced from law enforcement and other business lines.
- Take ownership of end-to-end transaction monitoring investigations for individuals and entities; decide whether activity warrants escalation and recommend whether activity appears suspicious and warrants filing of a suspicious activity report.
- Draft Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) / SARs in the format required by regulators (experience with Singapore Police Force format and filing on the SONAR portal is called out).
- Identify red-flag indicators and populate them correctly in STR/SAR files.
- Analyze transaction activity and KYC information, conduct due diligence research, and interpret evidence from external tools and systems to determine legitimacy of customer behavior across multiple products.
- Document investigations with written narratives and maintain detailed documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulations and internal policies/procedures.
- Review data from systems and follow Coinbase procedures to investigate, decide, and document transaction monitoring alerts.
- Incorporate feedback from the Quality Assurance team and maintain quality control standards.
- Stay current with industry standards and developments in KYC, BSA/AML, and OFAC, applying regulatory requirements to case investigations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial services, crypto, investigations, legal, or the tech industry, with focus on TMS, compliance, or regulatory matters.
- Practical experience drafting suspicious transaction reports in the format provided by Singapore Police Force and filing on the SONAR portal.
- Proven ability to identify red flags and correctly populate STR/SAR files.
- Strong investigative skills: transaction analysis, KYC review, due diligence research, and use of external tools/systems to form evidence-based conclusions.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Experience with Google Sheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Organized with a high level of attention to detail; flexible and adaptable in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to support a 24x7 environment (shift coverage as needed).
