This role reports into the Product organization and will lead and scale localization efforts across Perplexity's products and content (mobile, desktop, and public-facing communications). The Localization Program Manager will pilot and scale AI-first translation workflows with human-in-the-loop review, manage vendors and linguists, own linguistic QA and terminology, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize languages and launches.
Responsibilities
- Drive localization strategy and execution with alignment to Product and other organizations.
- Pilot and scale AI-first translation workflows with human-in-the-loop review, balancing speed, cost, and quality.
- Manage vendor and linguist relationships; source and onboard talent in priority markets.
- Lead linguistic QA and quality review processes to ensure localized content meets high standards.
- Identify and streamline technical and process issues affecting localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality; improve localization workflows and internationalization infrastructure.
- Collaborate with GTM, Product Ops, Partnerships, Legal, and regional teams to prioritize languages, align on launch timing, and ensure the right surfaces are localized.
- Oversee glossary, style guide, and terminology management across all languages for consistency across product and marketing.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience managing localization across marketing, product, and cross-functional surfaces in a global tech environment.
- Strong knowledge of localization workflows and tools (TMS, CMS, connectors, APIs).
- Experience piloting AI/ML-assisted translation workflows with human-in-the-loop QA.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple functions (marketing, product, engineering, legal, customer education, trust) to deliver global launches.
- Skilled in vendor and linguist management; experience sourcing for priority markets.
- Strong communication and project management skills, able to balance multiple priorities.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR.
- Exposure to SQL or analytics tools.
- Familiarity with low-code tools like Claude Code.
Compensation & Benefits
- Cash compensation range: $180,000 - $250,000 per year.
- Final offer amounts are determined by factors including experience and expertise and may vary from the listed range.
- Equity may be part of the total compensation package.
