The Opportunity

This role is more than management—you will shape a new function in the observability space. As the Manager of Observability Architects you will found and lead a technically elite team that guides Grafana’s most strategic customers through onboarding, adoption, and expansion. You will influence product direction, build customer-facing programs and collateral, and drive measurable customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Attract, recruit, ramp, mentor and retain a team of Observability Architects.
• Partner with Engagement Management to define and execute customer lifecycle frameworks.
• Operate as a player/coach: balance hands-on technical work with team leadership and people development.
• Drive customer retention and expansion in your region; provide executive sponsorship of key accounts.
• Collaborate with US Sales leadership on customer programs, marketing initiatives, and events to drive adoption and expansion.
• Help customers adopt Grafana technologies and develop enablement programs and collateral.
• Ensure customer requirements are surfaced to Product Management and Engineering.
• Own quarterly reporting and team outcomes while supporting demos, technical deep dives, trials and POVs.
• Educate and enable viewers, editors, and architects to leverage the Grafana stack.
• Assist with building/modifying SLA dashboards in production environments.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide timely workarounds/solutions.
• Contribute to documentation, blog posts, videos, knowledge base articles, and other enablement materials.

Requirements

• 3+ years leading a team and 5+ years in the high tech industry in roles such as TAM Manager, SE Manager, Developer, Sales Engineer/Architect, or similar.
• Direct experience mentoring, developing people and managing performance over time.
• Deep knowledge of the Grafana Platform (LGTM) and/or competing observability products.
• Direct experience selling or supporting monitoring, data, or visualization products.
• Extensive Grafana deployment design expertise.
• Creative problem solving for customer adoption challenges.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills; ability to identify workarounds and solutions to meet customer business needs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for collaboration with remote teams and worldwide customers.
• Experience with open source selling or cloud-first / product-led go-to-market motion is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• In the US, the OTE range for this role is $235,000 - $278,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset.
• All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
• 100% remote company with a global culture; in-person onboarding is provided.
• Global annual leave policy of 30 days per annum (with 3 reserved for company shutdown days); local legislation is followed where applicable.
